Current Opportunities
Motion Control Engineer
Post Date: August 5, 2025
Responsible for developing highspeed simulators of industrial machines such as Electric Discharge Machines (EDMs), Machining Centers (MCs), Injection Molding Machines (IMMs), and 3D Printing Machines for the development and testing of motion controllers for these machines using motion control algorithms as well as mechanical engineering analysis
Specific duties include:
- Apply hands-on motor control skills/knowledge (Conventional PID Control
- Advanced State-Space Modern Control Theory) on developing a new high performance motion controller
- Understand the mechanical structure of actual machines and build a model in simulation environments by converting continuous system to discrete system
- Use appropriate tools (such as Matlab, LabView, etc.) to ensure fully functional and robust motor control systems prior to integration into platforms
- Build prototype hardware on breadboard to conduct experiments to check or ensure the performance of motor controllers
- prepare specifications and technical details on hardware and software of motion controllers including motor control modules
Requirements:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or related field and 1 year of experience in the job offered or in mechanical engineering
Special Skills:
- Experience in designing and refining the mechanical structures of receivers using PTC Creo 3D modeling software
- experience analyzing receivers’ thermal performance using ANSYS, an engineering simulation software
Details:
- Position based in San Jose
- Hybrid role-telecommuting permitted 1 day/week with mandatory in-office 4 days/week
